Scouting magazine (August/September 2010) has named the 5th Penwortham Scout Group as the largest in the country. The group meets at Penwortham United Reformed Church, near Preston, Lancs, and contains four Beaver Colonies, three Cub Packs and four Scout Troops! Scouting carries a fascinating interview with Mike Sullivan, the Group Scout Leader, who has been in the Group for 28 years. The Group is a member of URCGSF, and members proudly wear our FURY badges.
We are proposing a weekend 30 April – 2 May 2011 in Swaledale, at Keld and Muker, near Richmond, N Yorkshire.
There will be time for hill-walking and sightseeing, and we plan to visit the highest URC in England (1000 ft above sea level, not high in churchmanship!).
If you’re interested please contact lewmck@googlemail.com for more details.
Hello from the URCGSF Girlguiding Centenary Camp! The sun is shining (for now!). Breakfast is over, and we’re getting ready for the rest of the day!
